About Us

In the early 1900s, Jivraj Singhji Reshamwala established a business in Bombay, importing bagged rice from Burma and coal from Lourenço Marques and Durban into India. Later, his grandsons Ravindra and Mahendra, aged 21 and 18 respectively, founded India’s first Ship-Broking and Chartering House, M/s Ravindra K. Reshamwala, in July 1948.

The company has a long-standing legacy in chartering Crude Oil, Gas, Dry Bulk, Chemicals, and Project Cargoes. It has also played a key role in shaping India’s shipping infrastructure.

In the mid-1900s, the Bangur–Soman Group’s Shree Digvijay Cement appointed Reshamwala Shipbrokers to advise on establishing a cement plant in Gujarat in collaboration with the Maharaja of Jamnagar, with the goal of exporting bagged and clinker cement. During the study, Ravindra Reshamwala identified Sikka as the ideal port location. As a result, Shree Digvijay Cements set up their plant, giving rise to the Port of Sikka, which today stands as one of India’s most active ports.
